The Federal Government’s changes (w.e.f 18/03/2018) specifically on employer sponsored Visas, most popularly Subclass 457 Visas might have worried many aspiring applicants. But under Grandfathering Arrangement for Subclass 457 visa holders as on April 18 2017, or applicants who had applied for Subclass visa before 18/04/2017 and was/is still pending, such temporary visa holders/applicants have been exempted from new eligible occupation requirement at the stage of applying ENS (Subclass 186/187) Visa and the new age limit of 45 years. As also, the transitional provisions save such previous subclass 457 visa holders/applicants to work at least for 2 years before they may become eligible for permanent resident ENS visa(s). It is pertinent to mention that new English language requirements and the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold in short TSMIT requirement apply to all 186/187 visa(s) w.e.f. 18/03/2018.
As with effect from 18 March 2018; New regulations require ENS permanent visa applicants including but not limited to TRT-Temporary Resident Transition Stream who applied Subclass 457 visa after 18/04/2017 and were subsequently granted, to have an eligible occupation on the MLTSSL and/or Regional Occupation List (for regional employment), with new age limit 45 years, new work experience requirements and at least three years of employment with nominating employer.
